Took a weekend trip to Indianapolis with nine other friends for the Allstate Brickyard 400 NASCAR race.  Left Saturday morning headed for Indy with a stop at a winery along the way.  Some good friends of Connie & Craig's let most of us stay at their house and their neighbors took in Bob & Janet.  A BIG - BIG "THANK YOU" to Doug, Kim, Ross, Morris, Jack and Karen for being such wonderful hosts.  The boys even gave up their rooms so some of us older folks could sleep in a regular bed.  Saturday night we had homemade tacos from Mike & Karen, a few libations and a great time visiting with some great people.  I had a little too much Crown Royal and fell out of bed that night according to the story Maureen told EVERYONE.  But I did get the #97 Crown Royal car in the random drawing for the pool, so I thought it was an omen.  Sunday morning found us headed for the Speedway where we parked in a very sweet ladies front yard again.  Annie let's us have the run of her place and has always been fun to be around.  She had a bit of a bad spell earlier this year so her son and daughter-in-law have moved back from Colorado to help out.  "Suds" and Ellen were as gracious as Annie so we had triple the fun with them.  After a nice big breakfast and a few libations we walked up to the track and enjoyed a very good race.  My 97 Crown Royal car didn't win but Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne made th final laps very exciting.  After waiting out the traffic at Annie's we returned to Doug & Kim's for some of Janet's Lasagna and more good times.
