After having a crack open up and start leaking in my back basement wall I had a company inspect it. It was decided to pier the cracked footing and foundation. 4 of the piers were done from inside the garage so as not to break up my new driveway where the boat sits. After the piering company was done I decided to re-arrange the driveway to square it up and replace the rock at the retaining wall with concrete. Total yards to be poured, about 6. Emailed some friends and family asking for some help unloading the concrete truck using wheelbarrows. All but one showed up and that was because he was on his way to Florida to help another friend down there! Talk about having some terrific friends! After breaking out the almost new driveway slabs and Jimmy loaning me his trailer to haul it all off we set about pouring the new concrete. My brothers, Denny and DJ, friends Jack and Kenny Hessler, George Ehret, Ron "Crusher" Hering and Joel Dunphy showed up bright and early and not only emptied the truck in short order but stayed to clean tools! Denny and DJ then stayed to help with the actual finishing. Can't thank these old retired guys enough! They worked like a bunch of 20 year olds moving that much concrete! Check out the pics of the job and you will get some idea of the work involved. Again, a great big giant THANK YOU! for all the help.
