1st Annual? Cardboard Boat Races at Captain Jack's Off the River

Saturday, September 24th, 2005 Captain Jack had his 1st Cardboard Boat Race at Captain Jack's Marina.  The entrants showed some real engineering and thought into making cardboard hold up in the water.  Saw some were coated with wax, various paints or sealers, and even the use of Sonotubes as pontoons!  You can see a few pictures of one of the boats under construction at:

About 5 PM, after a little final assembly four boats were ready to rumble.  Not really sure who won but it sure was fun to watch!  Check out the race pictures at:
