Florida Trip, June 2006
Went down to visit Preston and Faye in Eden, Florida just east of Destin. Their new house is just off of the east end of Choctawatchee Bay at the west entrance to the man made inter coastal waterway cut that goes to St. Andrews Bay at Panama City Beach. The house backs up to wetlands and sort of a creek, very peaceful and a little primitive looking area despite the million dollar plus homes all around. While there we also got to spend some time with Glen and Joan and got to see John and Carol Kitchin and their new home that they are rehabbing. They've got a great view overlooking the inter coastal waterway between Mary Esther and Navarre Beach with the uninhabited stretch of barrier islands across the waterway. Preston used to have a boat at Woodland Marina called "Golddigger" and John and Carol had the boat "Johnny O'", also at Woodland. A few years ago my son-in-law, Paul, gave me a large stuffed brown bear to replace my missing Panda Bear. You may have seen pictures of "Bear" previously on my website. Well, it seems "Bear" has been a bit of a cad! I found out he not only has a wife, Cher, a new baby bear (actually a gift from Ken and Sharon) AND a girlfriend, Claire (on loan from Susan and Tony)! Seems he thought he could go with us to Florida and take the girlfriend. Well, the wife found out and blew that out of the water real quick!
