Another weekend on the Mighty Mississippi, July 8th and 9th, 2006
Maureen's daughter, Nikki, spent her first weekend on the river. Saturday we headed up to Cedar Hill Resort for lunch and then down to Two Branch to raft up with friends. Headed back into the harbor that evening so we could go to Captain Jack's off the River and Sharky's Cove. Sunday we took a cruise by Grafton and rafted up with Horace and Kathleen on the "Relaxin" in Mason Chute. I got to test drive one of the Aquascooters Horace is selling. Basically it's a gas powered two cycle engine running a jet drive. You just hold on and squeeze the throttle. Runs about 5 mph and a tank of gas lasts about 3 hours. Pretty cool toy! Horace sells them for $775. The snorkel you see is the air intake. Check out all the pics at: Also added a new web page called "Where's Gary". You may remember Gary and Kathleen from the houseboat "River Dreams II" and the go fast boat "White Trash". Seems Gary likes my pictures so much he wanted to take and post some of his own.
