Went on our annual trip to St. Pete Beach October 25th thru the 30th to help Connie and Craig celebrate the 7th Anniversary of their wedding on the beach. As usual a couple of dozen other friends and family were there along with some newbies, Preston & Faye and John & Carol. Due to the fact that the new kids kind of like to have a beverage and a lot of fun they fit right in! In addition to hanging out at Sandbar Bill's Tiki Bar right there at Bon Aire Motel where we stay we took a couple of side trips and had a few activities. Friday was breakfast at the Seahorse Restaurant in Pass A Grille, a side trip to Johns Pass Village in Madeira Beach and then back to the beach to hang out and try to catch a sunset with the group through the persistent cloud cover. Saturday was breakfast at Seaside Grille in Pass A Grille, some sea shell hunting by the girls, Christmas card photo op with decorations that Glen & Carol brought (along with 600 feet of extension cord to blow up Santa and his reindeer on the beach) and then sort of a sunset and a bottle of Crown Royal for me! Sunday started off a little slower with breakfast at Seahorse and a lot of hanging out time at Bon Aire. The now annual shuffleboard tournament started by Connie's niece Casey was handled by Connie and Craig in her absence, leaving us sorely lacking for a referee! Eventually a few of us headed to the Salt Rock Grill in Indian Shores on recommendation of Bill, the owner of Bon Aire, who also called and made our reservation for us! Turned out to be a 1st Class restaurant with their own fishing fleet right there. Then a quick stop at Woody's Waterfront for a cocktail and then back to Bon Aire for an early evening. Monday we all went to Shaner's Market in Pass A Grille and picked out steaks and such to grill on the beach at sunset and then a short walk down the beach to the "Undertow". Tuesday was mostly hanging out and saying goodbye to all of the people we see down there each year and have become good friends with. Underlined places above are links to their websites.
